Weekly update : 3 November 2017
Road works round the school
During the road works the relevant streets (or part thereof) will be temporarily closed off. We kindly ask you to take the below schedule into consideration when bringing/picking-up your kids (see also enclosed chart):
|Tuesday 7 November, construction speed bump Sophialaan/Plein 1813||1||Nassaulaan only accessible via Javastraat|
|Wednesday 8 November, construction speed bump Sophialaan/ Plein 1813||2||Nassaulaan only accasible via Javastraat|
|Thursday 9 November, construction speed bump Nassaulaan 19||3||Nassaulaan only accessible via Sophialaan|
|Friday 10 November, construction speed bump Nassaulaan 11||4||Nassaulaan (section to the school) will be closed-off entirely|
|Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 November, construction ‘oortjes’ hoeken Sophiaaln – Nassaulaan||5||In principle not affecting accessibility of the school|
Throughout the entire road works period we strongly recommend if possible to bring/pick-up your kids by foot or bicycle. In case a car must be used, please park on Plein 1813. It is expected that driving into Sophialaan (via Plein 1813) or Nassaulaan (via Javastraat) will lead to heavy congestion and dangerous situations since all traffic going into these roads will have to reverse to exit via the same route to exit the area.
Visit of Stenden Students
Greek, Portuguese, Spanish, Bulgarian, Swiss and Dutch student teachers visited our school on Tuesday this week. They are on an exchange programme in the University of Stenden in Meppel. They spoke with some of our pupils in their Mother Tongue and attended some lessons. They had many presentations, including one given by our Student Council.
Overblijf Supervisors Meeting
A meeting of the Overblijf supervisors was held on Friday. Nicole explained about the use of first aid boxes and the necessity to record any accidents or incidents that happen.
Parents came to meet with Class teachers and specialists this week. Meetings were well attended.
The leaflet about Shoeboxes has gone home. Please return filled shoeboxes by 17th November.
Have a lovely weekend everybody.
